#OxCareersLive - GCSE results day virtual careers event
OxLEP Skills are holding virtual careers events on Thursday 20th August (GCSE results day) and Thursday 13th August (A Level results day). From 12:00 – 14:00 we will be sharing opportunities, resources, top tips and inspirational stories on the @OxLEPSkills and @OxonApprentice social media channels (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) using the hashtag #OxCareersLive.
This will incorporate Oxfordshire Apprenticeships Hour (#OAHour), which we run every Thursday on Twitter from 13:00 – 14:00.
The aim of the event is for this year's school leavers and their parents/carers to get ideas and inspiration from the posts and find out about local and national results day support available, current opportunities and useful resources to help with choices about next steps.
We are encouraging as many businesses and organisations as possible to take part by sharing content on their social media accounts during this time using #OxCareersLive.
Join us to find out about:
- Current vacancies and links to employers' early careers web pages
- Learning, virtual work experience and volunteering opportunities
- Online events, such as virtual tours or webinars
- Support being offered, such as webchat sessions for young people
- Inspirational stories and case studies from young people e.g. an Apprentice talking about their experiences or giving top tips
- Inspirational career and job stories e.g. short films of different colleagues talking about their job role and career journey
- Top tips e.g. how to make your CV stand out from the crowd, interview techniques etc
We are partnering with Oxfordshire County Council on this event and asking school Careers Leaders to encourage their students and parents to take part.
