The sixth annual Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards will once again shine a spotlight on our county’s apprentices - and the businesses and organisations, training providers and schools that support their journey - recognising the huge contribution they make to our county’s economy at a live virtual ceremony on Thursday 19 May 2022.
We're delighted to introduce NielsenIQ as sponsor of the Advanced Apprentice of the Year Award. Nielsen is the largest market research company in the world, studying what consumers watch and buy across more than 100 countries.
Here, Erin Fullarton, HR Assistant at NielsenIQ, explains why the company has chosen to sponsor this Award and what apprenticeships mean to them.
Why are you supporting the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards and why you have chosen to sponsor your particular category?
We are choosing to support the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards because as an organisation we understand from experience, the importance of apprenticeships and the value they can bring to our business as well as the apprentice. We have chosen our particular category because we don’t currently have any advanced apprentices within NielsenIQ and so it allows us to explore and learn more about this particular level. We sponsored this category last year and were truly inspired by the talent and achievements by all, and the passion they had towards their work and apprenticeship.
What are you looking for in the winner of your category?
We are looking for someone who is not only passionate about the work they complete and the industry they work in; but also, someone who has a passion for apprenticeships and wants to promote the positives of partaking in an apprenticeship.
We are looking for someone who shows willing to partake in above and beyond tasks that don’t necessarily just relate to their day to day work - especially topics such as diversity and inclusion and health and wellbeing.
What would you say to anyone thinking about entering or nominating?
Just go for it! We are always blown away by the talent we have entering and so we would love to see you featuring in our category. It is a chance for the apprentice and/or the employer to truly showcase the amazing work that you and/or their apprentices are doing within their business and making your organisation a better place to work. We also love to see a holistic view – so even if you think it isn’t related to your direct job, we will love to hear about it!
Tell us about your organisation’s experience of Apprenticeships
To date, we have had 7 cohorts of apprentices (including level 3 & 6). Currently, we are running the level 6 program and every year, we have a wealth of talent join us and go on to become crucial members of various teams. We have also had experience in sponsoring and judging the Oxfordshire Apprentice Awards in the past and have pure joy each year in getting to learn about different apprenticeship schemes and the importance they bring to individuals and the companies they work for.
