Introducing Reaction Engines, Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2022 Sponsor

Introducing Reaction Engines, Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2022 Sponsor

The sixth annual Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards will once again shine a spotlight on our county’s apprentices - and the businesses and organisations, training providers and schools that support their journey - recognising the huge contribution they make to our county’s economy at a live virtual ceremony on Thursday 19 May 2022.

We're delighted to introduce Reaction Engines as a sponsor of the Oxforshire Apprenticeship Awards 2022. Reaction Engines create pioneering applied technologies that have the potential to change the face of a wide range of commercial industries - from aerospace and automotive to energy.

Here, Lorrie Fry, Head of Marketing and Communications at Reaction Engines, explains why the company has chosen to sponsor the Awards and what apprenticeships mean to them.

Why are you supporting the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards?

As part of our commitment to investing in the next generation, we promote a popular engineering apprenticeship which has become an enviable career opportunity for early career professionals. By supporting the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards, we are continuing to support our local providers and encourage and raise awareness for young people considering an apprenticeship.

The Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate talented, enthusiastic and driven young apprentices.

Tell us about your organisation’s experience of Apprenticeships

We launched our apprenticeship scheme 13 years ago and currently have 4 apprentices within the business. In total we have had 16 apprentices, of which 5 have moved on to further their career. After a short pause during 2020/21 we are planning to reignite the scheme later this year where we will employ at least 2 apprentices in 2022.

Our apprentices train in real work environments to become world-class designers, engineers and technicians and are an integral part of our team.

About the Awards

The awards are now closed. Finalists will be announced during Oxfordshire Apprenticeships Hour (hashtag #OAHour) on Twitter @OxonApprentice from 13:00 on Thursday 14 April. Winners will be announced at a live virtual ceremony on Thursday 19 May 2022.
