OxLEP has today (28 November) announced the launch of a new online net zero resource, backing Oxfordshire businesses to take energy saving actions, reduce their carbon footprint and accelerate their journey towards net zero.
The new platform – available via the OxLEP Business website – offers a comprehensive overview, tailored for businesses who are looking to adopt greener practices and make their operations more sustainable.
OxLEP Business – who are the business support arm of OxLEP – says the platform has been developed in collaboration with a range of Oxfordshire businesses and organisations, including Oxfordshire County Council, the the couny's district councils, Oxfordshire Greentech and the Low Carbon Hub, each with valuable, real-world experience in implementing effective net zero strategies.
OxLEP Business have also collaborated with Darcica Logistics, LCMB Building Performance and Harwell Science and Innovation Campus on the project.
These partnerships will help to ensure that the platform provides up-to-date actionable insights, practical tools and signposting to relevant events and funding opportunities, helping businesses navigate the complexities of achieving net zero goals.
The new platform also aims to:
- Offer step-by-step guidance for businesses looking to adopt low carbon measures.
- Provide resources that help businesses reduce their carbon footprint across their operations.
- Share best practices and success stories from Oxfordshire businesses that have successfully achieved significant low carbon milestones.
Helen Brind, Growth Hub Manager at OxLEP, said: “We understand the challenges businesses face when striving to become more sustainable, and this new platform is designed to make that journey easier.
“By collaborating with organisations supporting net zero action across the county, we’re offering practical and proven strategies that Oxfordshire businesses can adopt to contribute to a greener future, while also maintaining their bottom line and continuing to operate successfully.”
The development of this resource is part of OxLEP’s wider commitment to support businesses in Oxfordshire.
During 2023/24, as an organisation, OxLEP supported almost 1,800 businesses, providing over 2,800 hours of specific business support in the process. A total of almost 700 business support plans were also created for organisations from across Oxfordshire following the completion of OxLEP’s online business support tool.
OxLEP Business invites all Oxfordshire businesses – whether large or small – to explore the new net zero platform and take advantage of the tools and knowledge it offers to help them move closer to achieving net zero.
By working together, OxLEP believes the county’s businesses can make a significant collective impact on sustainability and climate action.
