New OxTalks episode – providing tips and advice to Oxfordshire businesses – hits the airwaves

The latest episode of OxLEP’s very own podcast‘OxTalks’ – which aims to support Oxfordshire’s business community to be the very best it can – has today (20 November) been released.

This edition of OxTalks entitled: ‘How to Start a New Business: Feasible vs. Fantasy’ – and sponsored by leading national law firm Mills & Reeve – sees host Howard Bentham joined by Fiona Reid Associate Professor of Bioscience Entrepreneurship at University College Londonto explore her top tips for starting a business and becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Before joining UCLFiona was the founder and former Executive Director of the Oxford Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation for nine years at the Said Business School. She helps to build and fund science-based start-ups from the ground up with her wisdom and expertise.

Fiona has 15 years’ experience teaching and her expertise focuses on complex innovation spaces the interface between science and business and entrepreneurial thinking within organisations. She holds the belief that entrepreneurship can be taught.

Further upcoming guests on series two are anticipated to share their insights and tips for tackling key business challenges with topics including building a personal brand and social entrepreneurship development.

Episode one – which was released earlier this month – saw chief executive of Bicester Motion and Bicester Heritage Dan Geoghegan join the OxTalks podcast to discuss: ‘How to Lead By Example: Shaping Leaders of the Future’.

Series one of OxTalks launched earlier this year featured a range of key industry figures including CEO of Blenheim Palace Dominic Hare the UK Atomic Energy Authority’s Chief Technology Officer Tim Bestwick and Founder and Managing Director of sustainable events company LegacyAbena Fairweather.
