Oxfordshire cultural organisations receive government support

A total of 13 Oxfordshire cultural organisations have been successful in receiving Culture Recovery Fund grantstotaling almost £2 million.

The businesses received the new finanical support from the Government’s £1.57bn Culture Recovery Fundwith the following companies benefiting from the scheme:

  • Oxford Playhouse Trust: £458000
  • The Theatre Chipping Norton: £144154
  • Arts at the Old Fire Station: £96420
  • The Oxfordshire Science Festival: £74929
  • The Oxford Chamber Music Foundation: £50000
  • Aesop Arts Society: £200000
  • Spacial Installations: £228000
  • The Bullingdon: £212621
  • Fusion Arts Oxford: £86306
  • Modern Art Oxford: £91000
  • The Museum of Oxford: £80731
  • The Story Museum: £170000
  • The Mad Hatter: £50000

This support for the cultural sector aligns with OxLEP’s own support of the wider visitor economy.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak OxLEP has provided significant and sustained support to the county’s visitor economyadministering both financial and business-to-business support.

Just under 200 visitor economy businesses have so far received personalised business support plans from OxLEP Businesswith a further 173 businesses completing the organisation’s online business support toolwhich both triages and offers advice on the type of support available in-light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 25 visitor economy-led organisations based in Oxfordshire also received financial support during the summer via OxLEP Business’ business resilience grant scheme. Meanwhilea quarter of all current sign-ups to OxLEP Business’ most-recent business support offer – the peer network programme – operate within the visitor economy sector.
