Oxfordshire is a county of exceptionally-high productivitywith the output of the county’s workforce in the top 20 per cent of all English regions on a per-head basis (Office for National Statistics Nomis and PwC analysis2017).

As one of the best-performing economies in the UKwith a GVA of around £23billion a year – we as a county play a crucial role in boosting a national economy its productivity as well as the need for it to be more globally-facing post-Brexit. This message is reiterated in the emerging Oxfordshire Local Industrial Strategy.

As we celebrate the successes of our business community we should also consider how we maintain such high levels of productivity and whether this is something that can be improved further – and if sohow.

On 9 July we will be holding the next of our Q&A debates at the European Space Agency in Harwell where we will be discussing what we can do to further improve the level of output and productivity in what is an already thriving economy.

In our latest vlogCommunications Manager Rob Panting discusses what you can expect from the event:

Once again this event is a chance for Oxfordshire businesses to come together and discuss a key topic tied-in to our growing economy whilst hearing from a panel of top business leaders from across the county.

We are also pleased to announce that the Q&A will again be chaired by radio presenter Howard Benthamwith our panellists to be announced in due course.

The full itinerary for this event will be:

  • 8am: Registration and breakfast refreshments
  • 8.30am: Q&A event begins
  • 10am: Q&A event closes

We would advise the use of public transport to access this venue where possible – full details can be found on the Harwell Campus website.
