Careers and Enterprise Company Alt Row

Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC)

The current careers landscape can be confusing, fragmented and unclear for many.

Through our partnership with the Career and Enterprise Company (CEC) we help young people to better understand the modern workplace, develop skills and attributes they need to compete in today’s labour market.

Apprenticeships & Vocational Pathways Alt Row

Apprenticeships & Vocational Pathways

Oxfordshire traditionally has a tight labour market with generally low unemployment.

One of our main strategies is to support an increase in the number of apprenticeships and vocational pathways, particularly within SMEs which make up 99% of the county's employers.

Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards

Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards

One of our key roles is to showcase to Oxfordshire's businesses and young people the benefits of apprenticeship programmes, right across dozens of key sectors.

Each year, we celebrate apprenticeships through the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards, which has now recognised dozens of talented and outstanding young people and their employers.

Community Employment Plans Alt Row

Community Employment Plans

To maximise the benefits of the large-scale infrastructure projects on communities, we aim to ensure that local people in Oxfordshire can better access the employment and training opportunities they create.

These are led through the development of employer-led initiatives called Community Employment Plans (CEPs).

Further and Higher Education providers Alt Row

Further and Higher Education Providers

We partner with higher and further education providers, independent training providers and employer providers across the county to share good practice, identify and share opportunities and work together towards continual improvement for all learners in Oxfordshire.

ESF Skills for Business Alt Row
