- Further and Higher Education Providers
We want to ensure that each and every person who lives and works in the county is equipped with the very best skills to maximise their full potential.
The refreshed Skills Strategy to 2020 set out the key priorities to meet the ‘needs of local employers through a more integrated approach to education and training, developed in partnership with our provider network'. Much progress has been made, with significant investment in our skills infrastructure - including City Deal investment to support Apprenticeships alongside in excess of £23m capital investment in new training facilities including investment to support additional STEM provision.
We have members from both further and higher education on our Skills Advisory Panel to represent the views of Oxfordshire’s training providers. We recently conducted a COVID-19 Training Provider Survey and shared the results with the All Parliamentary Group on Apprenticeships which was used in their annual report.
Oxfordshire Training Provider Network
We hold a regular Training Provider Network to bring training providers delivering in Oxfordshire together to share information and discuss relevant issues. This includes further and higher education, independent and employer training providers.
You can view the recordings of previous meetings on our YouTube channel.
Careers Hub
Our Careers Hub links with training providers to ensure that young people in schools and colleges have access to information about technical and vocational routes, to make them aware of all their options.
