The current careers landscape can be confusing, fragmented and unclear for many. Through our partnership with the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC), we help young people to better understand the modern workplace and develop the skills and attributes they need to compete in today’s labour market.
This work is led through two programmes, the Enterprise Adviser Network (EAN) and the Careers Hub.
Enterprise Adviser Network (EAN)
The Enterprise Adviser Network is formed of volunteer business professionals who helps support pathways into industry and bridge the gap between the world of work and education. They work with Careers Leaders and senior leaders at the school or college to create opportunities for young people.
There are 53 schools and colleges from across Oxfordshire in the network, including 10 Special Educational Needs Schools and 1 Pupil Referral Unit.
Careers Hub
The Careers Hub is formed of 53 schools and colleges, which focus on achieving all of the eight Gatsby Benchmarks of excellent careers education.
Cornerstone employers support the Careers Hub by working with their networks and wider business community to ensure that young people have access to the career opportunities they need. Businesses include: Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust, Integration Technology, UKAEA – UK Atomic Energy Authority, Unipart Group, Oxford Brookes University, Mini BMW Plant Oxford, Willmott Dixon and EKFB
We also link with training providers to ensure that young people in schools and colleges have access to information about technical and vocational routes, to make them aware of all their options.
