- COVID-19 Business Resilience Fund
In response to the unprecedented challenges that Oxfordshire’s small businesses are facing as a result of COVID-19, we are repurposing funding to create a business resilience fund, designed to support Oxfordshire businesses to survive and thrive.
The fund complements the range of support available from HM Government and – through a competitive process – provides eligible businesses with unmatched grants ranging from £1,000 to £10,000. The application process is quick and simple, and the approval process will be completed within 21 days of receiving the application.
Oxfordshire’s small businesses (SMEs) and sole traders, including charities and social enterprises, can apply for revenue (income-based) grants of up to £5,000, or capital (asset-based) grants of up to £10,000.
There is £250,000 available for revenue grants and £500,000 available for capital grants.
The grant application process is competitive and applications will need to outline how the grant would assist with activities which align with our three key aims which are to:
- Build business resilience
- Strengthen growth
- Protect jobs
To be eligible for a consideration, a business must:
- Be a sole trader or a registered small business (250 employees or less) with an annual turnover below £40m
- Have been trading from a base in Oxfordshire for at least one year
- Have been in good financial health prior to 31 December 2019
- Not receive more than €200,000 de minimis aid within the current financial year or the previous two financial years
- Use the grant to build business resilience, strengthen growth and protect jobs
The application window opens on Friday 22 May and closes at 5pm on Friday 5 June.
You can apply for both a revenue and capital grant (with appropriate justification) on the same application form. Each will be assessed individually and in combination. The grant cannot be used to support or top-up staff costs which are already being claimed through the HM Government’s Job Retention Scheme.
There will be an early assessment panel to consider the first tranche of applications so if you can apply early, please do.
