Local Growth Fund case study: Activate Learning's Oxfordshire Centre for Technology and Innovation

It's again time to reflect on some of the incredible impacts and legacy that investment secured by OxLEP in recent years has had on the Oxfordshire economy.

Opened in 2016, Activate Learning's Oxfordshire Centre for Technology and Innovation can be found in Blackbird Leys, Oxford.

It has created training and learning opportunities across key science and technology areas such as construction, engineering and computing.

OxLEP secured £4.5 million-worth of investment for the project via the Government's Local Growth Fund, with a further £3.33 million leveraged.

Since our investment, the centre's wider-campus has achieved Institute of Technology (IoT) status, with close to 900 students gaining experience and qualifications via the centre between 2016 and 2022.
