Local Growth Fund case study: Powertrain Technology Centre at Prodrive, Banbury

As we all move closer towards the end of 2022, it's time to reflect on some of the incredible impacts and legacy that investment secured by OxLEP in recent years has had on the Oxfordshire economy. 

Situated at their Banbury headquarters, Prodrive's Powertrain Technology Centre has reinforced the company's ability to develop the next generation of electric, hybrid and internal combustion engines for road and competition applications, while also strengthening the expertise and services that the company can offer existing motor sport and technology clients.

Since opening in 2019, the centre has gone on to develop a new sustainable fuel that has led to the reduction of CO2 emissions by 80% on previous productions.

OxLEP secured £500,000-worth of investment for the project via the Government's Local Growth Fund, part of an overall cost of £2.26million.
